My name is Tom! I’m half-British and half-Lithuanian, I’ve lived in the UK most of my life but I’ve been living in Amsterdam for over 7 years. I first moved here in 2018 to start my studies at AUC, a university college created by the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit. As the program had an interdisciplinary focus, I studied Physics, Maths, Computer Science and Psychology.
Background
I studied Physics, Maths, Computer Science and Psychology – my degree was an honours program that had a strong interdisciplinary focus. My final thesis investigated using virtual reality and cognitive behavioural therapy to treat PTSD patients. Outside the study halls, I was heavily involved in the university hockey team, as I’ve been playing hockey since I was 10 years old and it’s been my main sport!
At Dharma, I’m a frontend developer in the Q team, working on quality improvements and AI solutions. I bring to the team my experience in UI/UX and Typescript/React. I really enjoy making elegant user interfaces that bring great value to the end users, as well as exploring ways to adopt the ever-changing landscape of generative AI!

Free time
In my free time, I love to play video games on my PC that I built. I enjoy going to the cinema to watch the latest and greatest movies, including those from the MCU, as I’ve been a big fan since I was a kid. I like to keep fit by going to the gym most days, as well as bouldering with friends or colleagues. I also enjoy playing tennis, squash, table tennis, any racket sport really.
Over the last 3 years I’ve become really interested in self-development. Learning about how to improve my social, physical, and mental health through exercise, healthy eating, mindfulness, meditation, journalling has felt empowering.
Media
My favourite game of all time is Destiny (1 and 2), it’s a universe I could (and have) get lost in for many, many hours. I first started playing it in 2014, and for the better part of over a decade have enjoyed following along as it’s story unfolds and universe expands.
Inspiration
I am inspired by my favourite music artist: The Weeknd. I really love his ever-evolving music and the way he weaves together stories through the sounds and lyrics of his songs. I find it incredible that he went from a school dropout and homeless, living in a van, to one of the biggest artists of our time with 120M+ monthly listeners on Spotify!
